With the enthusiasm of the “Jiangsu City Football League” for football matches, we fully promote the spirit of teamwork and collectivism among our students, while enhancing their awareness of physical exercise and creating a good sports atmosphere on campus. With the aim of “friendship first, competition second”, the first autumn football tournament of the School of Computer Information Engineering officially opened on November 11th.
Six teams and classes from the entire institution participated in the competition. At the game venue, the players, with their agile skills and tenacious fighting spirit, sweated profusely on the field, winning cheers and applause from the audience. The basketball court has become a stage for Jixin students to showcase their passion and dreams, and they interpret the sportsmanship of “never give up” with sweat and effort.
After two rounds of group stage matches, the software engineering team, communication engineering team, IoT engineering team, and artificial intelligence team qualified for the semi-finals.
After the group stage, a fun football match for more students will be held on November 25th. Dong Yinxing, who is ranked 23rd, won the men’s championship with a score of 4.00, while Tang Xuyan, who is ranked 23rd, won the women’s championship with a score of 4.48.
Looking back at the six person competition, the software engineering team lost 0-2 to the IoT engineering team in the knockout stage, while the communication engineering team defeated the artificial intelligence team 2-1. The final communication engineering team defeated the IoT engineering team 3-2 with a one goal advantage to win the championship of this competition. In addition, the software engineering team won the third place in this competition by defeating the artificial intelligence team in a penalty shootout.
This event effectively created a positive and vibrant campus sports culture atmosphere, vividly showcasing the youthful spirit of our college students’ unity, hard work, and determination. We look forward to all new students taking this opportunity to continue promoting the spirit of sports, being diligent in academic research, emphasizing teamwork, and striving to grow into outstanding talents with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor in their future university life, contributing their youthful strength to the development of the college.
